A DiaryBook service for the HSE
HSEBOOK is a secure digital appointment letter service used by HSE healthcare services across Ireland. Instead of a posted letter, your appointment details are delivered by email — or made available through a secure online link.
If you've received a communication from hsebook.ie, it's because your healthcare service uses DiaryBook to manage appointments. Your appointment letter, along with any related documents, is attached to the email or accessible via the link provided.
You can use the link to view your appointment details, download any documents, and confirm or update your attendance.
For HSE services
HSEBOOK is a paid add-on to existing DiaryBook accounts. It extends the platform you already use — adding digital appointment letter delivery and a patient-facing portal without new software, new infrastructure, or changes to clinical workflows.
Service one
Generate PDF appointment letters from customisable templates, append supporting documents, and deliver by email from a branded hsebook.ie address. An authorisation step ensures no correspondence leaves without oversight.
Service two
A secure link — via SMS or email — brings patients to hsebook.ie where they can view appointment details, access documents, and confirm or respond. Removes the ambiguity of SMS replies when patients have multiple appointments.
Adopt either or both — there is no dependency between the two services.
A hospital shifting just 50% of its posted letters to digital delivery through HSEBOOK saves approximately €50,000 per year in postage alone — before counting the administrative time freed up. HSEBOOK costs a fraction of the saving. The payback is immediate.
